Seed Stewardship + Food Sovereignty with Koby Hagen

Koby is one seed saver along a long line of great teachers and breeders before her. She is a Seed Production Manager at Seed Saver’s Exchange in Decorah, Iowa and also leads Seed Sages, a regenerative design & education organization.

Seed stewardship and biodiversity conservation is a driving force behind Koby’s 15+ years in this work. She aims to inspire and support everyone to dive deeper into regenerative methods and share our collective food and seed abundance. She also happens to be one of our first Permaculture mentors and ongoing educational partner – I’m honored to be able to interview her many years later on my own path! Listen to her story and journey…

Koby Hagen draws upon a variety of interdisciplinary grassroots and academic experiences to create regenerative projects and seed production designs. She has a Masters in Community and Regional Planning: Natural Resources, the Environment, and Seed Systems from the University of New Mexico, obtained her Permaculture Design Certificate in New Mexico and her Permaculture Teacher Certificate in Minnesota, management and consultant experience with urban and rural farms, and has produced seed in NM, CO, MN, CO, WI, and IA. She aims to inspire and support everyone to dive deeper into regenerative methods and share our collective food and seed abundance.
